Hey guys, Im new here, and just about to buy a 65 C10 tomorrow. Looks ok for only $175. It needs a front fender, and a bunch of sanding for the body to be ok, and a seat cover for the inside to be ok. Now the transmission and rear end might be alittle scary because the truck has sat for 23+ years. Thats a long time.... It has a I6 in it, which is probably frozen, and even if it is not, Im sticking a 350 in it that is coming out of my 62 impala. Now, one more thing im worried about, the pedals all seem fried, along with the shifter. It's a 3-on-the-tree, or 3 speed on the column, whichever you prefer. The shifter moves up and down, but doesn't move toward me, like it should right? At least the shifter on my 67 f100 will move towards you because the shift pattern is 1st- to you and down
2nd- up and away. and 3rd is straight down. That is correct right? because it only move to 3rd, neutral and 2nd, by the looks and feel of it. Anyway, MY two questions are How easy will the engine swap be, and Is the linkage just stuck on the column somewhere or what? Thanks guys, I'll be coming here alot now.........
