For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 2 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 2 | I was hoping someone can help me with just an idea on value. We have a 53 3/4 ton that we just pulled out of the shed on the farm.. It has not run for 20 years and is in very poor shape. I let a friend have the engine for his truck, now he wants to pay me. any idea what the engine is worth? Nothing was cracked. $100-$200 more? Also is the remaining body worth anything? $300-$400 ???? Thanks in advance for your help. P.S. I don't want to get rich on this just a fair price. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 738 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 738 | if the engine was in good rebuildable shape then $100-$200 sounds right. the rest of the truck's value depends on it condition you say it is in poor shape, so it is going to be one of those who wants it things. if you find someone who needs what it has then it might be worth $400 but i would say lower than that most likely. it is hard to give concrete values on things that are so often in the eye of the buyer. if a buyer really wants the body for parts or to restore it then you might be able to get good money, but don't expect to. it is a very hard thing to judge.

Depends on the condition. Then he's not out money and you get some chores did. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 1,158 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 1,158 | I like arnswine's suggestion. Trade for Chores is a good idea. $100-200 bucks for an engine that turns freely is about right. If it runs, then it will be worth more (probably $300-400), but it sounds like this is not the case. I really won't comment about the body. a fair price will depend on the amount of rust and what kind of shape it's in. Maybe if we saw some pictures... | | | | | Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 2 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 2 | Thanks guys for the help. I would add pics but I haven't figured out how to on this site yet. P.S. We rent the farm out so someone else does all that work. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 688 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 688 | I agree with the others the truck is most likely worth about $400 or more. Good luck
