I got the tree off my 1966 C-10 today, and the cab is definitely totaled. I am thinking of replacing the cab, but I have no idea of what it may cost.

i am glad to hear that you are thinking of giving the truck a new lease on life. i think that the best bet may be to look for a whole truck, you will no doubt need some other parts. i bet that you can find one in your area, i would also check out the "swap meet" section for someone selling a complete truck or a cab only, i seem to remember a guy offering a cab not too long ago. good luck, it makes me happy to hear that you want to save the old girl, good luck.

There is a cab on ebay now, it's in the Dallas area. I also know of two more in central Texas that can be had reasonable.

TPYLE.

It was hit hard enough to crush the roof to the dash, and the hood is damaged. I looked under the truck, and the frame looks OK.

If I feel that the cost of repairs is too high, I would want to sell it to someone who will fix it. I will refuse to junk this truck!

I will offer it in the Swap Meet, if I decide to sell it.

Just my .02
If Curly,s frame is OK I see no reason why he cant be brought back from The Edge.
Re Cabbing one of these is far from hard.
There are decent ones out there.
Can you put up a few pics?
Did the hit come side to side or front to back? Regards

Doug, for a good solid cab, expect to pay $600 to $1000 dollars. I saw one last week on ebay, I believe it was white, you might watch them.

In addition to what Tim,s saying
Your search for a cab is NOT restricted to just 64 thru 66 1/2 ,3/4 and 1ton models.
All the cabs from 1/2 ton thru 6000 series (maybe even 8000)are the same.
The front clips were bigger and used a different trans cover.
Only Exception being the LCF Cabs Like Jolly,s
Reason I mention this is that you can usually get a Big Bolt With a good cab complete for a lot less, and then part out what you dont use wink

I located a 1965 cab with a windshield in South Carolina for $700.00. I'll go take a look at it.

I appreciate your help.
