I'm ready to purchase the 6 lug disc brake conversion from CCP but my question is,I don't have room for the powermaster cylinder with my stock four speed a'm I shooting myself in the foot with just the dual manual master cylinder or should I buy the one that fits on the firewall and it won't be stock. thanks for your input.

I have the CCP dual manual master in my 49 with the 6 lug disc kit up front. It stops great. I like the feel of the manual better than the power anyway. I would go power disc only if your gonna do a V8 conversion. One thing I will warn you about is after I intsalled my disc kit, the turning radius was horrible. The caliper brackets were hitting the king pin lock bolt. You will have to either grind the lock bolt head down or grind a little off the brackets. Just a heads up on that cause I drove around for a month doing 10 point turns.

You also can get kevlar linings for the old drums and they REALLY make a difference. www.praisedynobrake.com I have them on my 59 and they work very well.

Yes, I did go to the tapered wheel bearings. The hardest part of the swap was getting the old brake drums off of the spindles. Lots of drilling and beating. grin Kinda fun though.

I just cut the access hole bigger and screwed a piece of heavy gauge sheet metal over the hole. Works great, cheap and give me plenty of access. Good luck. wink
