Can someone help me fing a listing for an AGCA 326900 casting number on the block. My 49 3/4 ton has this number and I would like to know more about it.

AGCA = possibly means 1949 series 3600,3800 216ci truck engine.

326900 = sequence number, don't know what it means .

Bowtietim is correct about the AGCA prefix.

Thanks guys, Bowtietim I hope your right because the truck is a 1949 Chev 3600 and since it is in very good running condition I was hoping that the engine was the original.

Here's a old list of 235 Engine prefixes from my file:

Chev 41-49 The 235 can be distinguished from the 216 by the following prefix-
'41 AG,AL
'42 BG,BL
'46 DDA,DDM,DEA,DEM(2nd design)
'47 EDA,EDM,EEA,EEM
'48 FDA,FDM,FEA,FEM
'49 GDA,GDM,GEA,GEM

So your '49 may be a 235, look at the side of the pan (driver's side) for #235 stamped about mid way. This number you listed appears to be stamped number (at the distributor), you need to locate the casting number also on the right side but lower on the block and foreward.
