For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Mike Gilman's 1948 GMC 1/2-Ton Update -- "GMCPic" has been making good progress in these last five years. He's done all the work himself mostly on weekends. It's looking pretty good. Dennis Johnson's 1954 GMC Aircraft Tug -- This is something to see. When I first opened the pictures, I thought "what???" Would make a great truck -- talk about a "back seat driver" Peg

Woog's right, this would make a sweet crew cab for a hauler! Allows great visability on the car you're hauling, too!

This one may have been built, in '54, but that's a '53, & earlier cab/cabs. | | | | | Joined: Nov 1995 Posts: 1,159 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 1995 Posts: 1,159 | Not sure if this will help, but Frank McMullen sent in this picture which looks a lot like Dennis' deal ... but all in one piece. Frank's message: "A friend found this somewhere on the 'net ... looks like a really huge airfield tug; don't know who the truck builder was but they used '52-'53 AD Chevy/GMC cabs... "Figured that someone here in Stovebolt world can pin a defnitive ID ..." Peg
