Has anyone custom engineered any compressor mounting brackets on a six? I have a MIG, looking for ideas or pics of other setups,,thanks Brian | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,832 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,832 | GM made factory brackets for the 230-250-292 six. I haven't seen many on a 64 but by 66 a/c was getting more popular and a 66 has the same configuration as your 64. Maybe someone with this setup could send you a pic. I have also seen aftermarket brackets that were for the York type compressor rather than the Frigidare. Hit the swap meets and look at all the 64-66 trucks with the hood open and you might score.

It still may be too tall. I scored some pulleys off ePay & a two groove dampner off a 66 GMC 250. I was thinking of using a smaller, possibly(ugh)import, compressor like a Sanden to ease the burden on the six. I would love a pic of someone's setup, around here at shows no one keeps a six, they are dumped for a 350. The 292 brackets probably won't fit due to the increased engine height. | | |
