That does look neat.. did they build it new from the ground up, or was it a resto-rod?

...Got that mag laying around the garage somewhere... The truck is a mega sliced and diced '48 cab and fenders, combined with a late-nineties S-truck bed with panel fenders pasted on the sides. All this glorious sheetmetal work rolls around on big-inch Corvette wheels attached to four corners of an S-truck 2WD, short wheelbase chassis powered by one of those new, wierd, inline 5's.

It looks like it may be the truck pictured on LMC catalog covers.

I'm of the opinion that ideas and styles like that might help GM stay outta bankruptcy court.

i was telling someone that same thing. and the nice thing about that truck,is it does look like a 48 from what ive seen of it. bout time they steped to the plate and tossed out a good one.

They cant make a truck like that anymore.. mostly because of saftey regulations passed in the last 50 or so years.

I've often said if GM and Fjord would put out limited "re-issues" of their classic vehicles, they'd make a killing.

well if the car makers could make cars like we have that were restoring, i could save time. instead i had to by my kids first cars with rust on them. but then, i think they like the rust a bit anyway.

Look at the "Heritage" series of bikes Harley Davidson produces;that's about as close as the factory will get to the "re-issue",I'm afraid.

Yeah, most of them are only concept cars that never hit the market.

All they do ist take one ore two design elements out of the concept car, flatten them out till it is (what they think) "mass compatible" and bolt it on an other - so called - "revolutionary" design car that looks like an other japanese manga toy.

Best example:
Holden (GM Australia): This is what GM designers can do ...if you only let them.

And this is what would bring GM back to the top. But they prefer to buy an asian go-cart company like Deawoo and put a Chevy sticker on the Deawoo cars now and sell them as Chevrolets :rolleyes: (at least here in Germany).
