The differential doesn't have its tag or anything so I'm not sure how to tell what the gears are. Help? I'm putting a saginaw 4speed in this rig. How will this get along with the stock rear end? | | | | Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 1,158 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 1,158 | It should say on the ring gear what the ratio is.
At least, that's what I'm told.
If you don't want to screw around with the rear end, you can jack the back up and spin the wheels and count how many times the driveshaft turns vs how many times the wheels turn. That'll give you your ratio, too.
The Transmission should play nice with the differential. | | | | Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 83 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 83 | Cool, I never thought of that driveshaft-to-wheel turn ratio. Thank God for a few good truck enthusiasts. Thanks!!!
