Lots of work on Brad's part ... pure enjoyment (and references) for you!

For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 703 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 703 | Yesterday, Shipwright and I attended the 20th Annual Sunflower Nationals. What an awesome show. Although, I think if I keep hanging out with Shipwright, one, (or both) of us is going to get in trouble. Anyway, during the awards ceremony, we're sitting there BS'ing and they called my registration number. I actually had to run back to the truck and double check the number, cause I couldn't believe I'd won! Couldn't believe it. A Top-20 People's choice award. http://groups.msn.com/JedsToyBox/shoebox.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=25 There were over 100 cars entered in this show, and I know there is no way mine was a top 20 vehicle. The only thing I can figure, it was different enough from all of those $50K+ streetrods that they must have like it. By the way, a pro-street AD truck did take best of show. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 1,682 Extreme Gabster | | Extreme Gabster Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 1,682 | Don't fool yourself, man.. your '46 is one sweet ride.
Sure it may not have a metal flake blue paintjob, or some cartoon character airbrushed on it somewhere.. it may not be slammed, shaved, and chopped.. but cool is cool man.. and the people have spoken!
So many rides are "modified" i'd be suprised if alot of folks even know what those trucks looked like stock.
I subscribe to the theory if it ain't broke, don't fix it.. and and in my opinion, a '46 is just about as perfect as you can get off the assembly line.
Congrats on your award, man!
an idea is only stupid if you think about it rationally.

And BTW:
That is a sweet looking truck.
Of course, I may be biased... That's what mine'll look like when it's done...
But it still looks great to me! | | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 553 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 553 | Hey Eric, That is one nice ride. You deserved to win that. Expecially since I'm partial to '41-'46 trucks. There aren't enough of us original types around. Keep on crusin', john. | | | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,438 Extreme Gabster | | Extreme Gabster Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,438 | From what I can see of it around that big ugly guy, I'd say it's a deserved award.

Truth be known, I'm pretty sure I saw Shipwright stuffing the ballot box.
Mozzie, I can only hope that what you say is true. It is a nice truck, but we live in the world of Foos/Boyd, and the like, who have unlimited funds, talent, and time. (OK, so Foos anyway, forget I said anything about Boyd)
Joker, I would be proud to own anything as pretty as your 52, (RedRyder).
Steppenwood, Your truck is what I someday aspire to do. It is absolutely one of the most beautiful art-deco trucks I've ever seen.
Cletis... What can I say, I was chugging a Coke when I read your post. I almost spit Coke out my nose, I was laughing so hard.
Thanks again for all of the support you've given to me. | | |
