I HAVE 1963 CHEVY CREW CAB LOOKING FOR INFO ABOUT THESE TRUCKS. MINE WAS A 6CYL WITH A 3SPD AND FLAT BED .PREVIOUS OWNER INSTALL 1972 RUNNING GEAR 396 ENG. TURBO 400 ,DISK BRAKES UP FRONT 3/4 TON REAREND AND 1963 LONG BED. NEED TO FIND SEATS FRONT AND BACK THANKS MIKE

As for your truck, as far as I know (and Jolly and the rest of the '60-'66 experts ought to be along soon), your truck is a custom after-market mod. Chevrolet didn't offer a factory crewcab until the '73 model year (Dodge introduced the crewcab in it's '63 model year, by the way...).

The experts can tell you for sure, but because most of the custom houses just grafted most of a stock cab onto the back of the cab, a lot interchanges fronbt to back like the doors and seats. Hopefully, the guys will set me straight on this if I'm wrong.

Welcome to the Bolt. Don't know anything about your truck, but...

Have you tried searching through the gallery, and seeing if you can contact any of the owners via e-mail?

I know I saw one owned by Norm Zabala, in CA. It's a 64 Crew-Cab. It seems to me, there was another one out there, around that same vintage, a couple of months ago, perhaps in NM.

If I remember correctly, it was converted for military use or something like that.

I remember reading somewhere in a magazine that the railroad had some crewcabs special built back in the 50's. I read this in the late 80's or early 90's. It stuck with me because it showed a 58 GMC that was so cool!

The garage has been updated with a pics of a couple more rare Chevy Crew Cabs. a 55 and a 64 4x4....

Mbuskie, I'm trying to put as much info together for these rare crew cab beast. Stay tuned.

this must have been a somewhat common thing to do cause i have seen a few of the 60-66 crew cabs like maybe 3-4 none in person though i think it would be something cool to do but does anyone know how those custom shops did it? what did they do with the frame cab, doors just anything/everything

Are you sure Dodge was the first to have a factory crew cab? From the 50's on International crew cabs were used by railroad and utility companies. They could have been custom items but were numerous.

Your mission, Mr. Heddleston, should you choose to accept it is to find a mid 60's 4x4 crew cab bolt. Yeah thanks to looking at Jolly's site now I'm really hooked and now have more direction in my search for the perfect bolt. What red blooded American with a family and addiction to old iron could resist something like that.Somewhere out there, rare as they are I know I'll find one, not a show piece but a repairable, usable crew cab bolt. Of course I could build one, I have access to dad's old 65(now junked),now just to find another with good title and a later model 3/4 ton 4x4 running gear. Wow I have a dream! My wife is gonna hate me for what I do to the back yard LOL!

International had a three-door Crew Cab starting in 1956, and ran through 1961. At that time, they dramatically changed the styling and a true 4-door Crew emerged from that.

anybody have info on 67-72 crew cabs? i think it would be pretty cool to build a 69-70 crew cab 4x4 long box was wonderin if anyone would know where some buildsheets could be found or maybe even blue prints from the companyies that made them? cause i have seen the 60-66 crew cabs before but never a 67-72 until i seen the 69 k20 in the other crew cab post any info is helpful

A local body man here built an extended cab 70-72 GMC on a late model dodge 3/4 ton 4x4 with a Cummins diesel, and a long bed. The extended part of the cab is really too short for much good,but it's still cool to see. I'll try to take a pic of it sometime when I'm up that way.
