The tranny swap had been done to my truck by the PO, but the old spedo cable isnt long enough now. Is it easy to get a new cable, or will i have to have one fabricated. If it would need to be facricated, does anyone know how much it would cost, and if there's any good place for it in the so cal area?

i think that brothers has/ had 60'' cables

if you do change to other gauges they work by wires and senders, no cable

Auto parts stores can get any length cable you want. Make shure you get the right ends. The trany end is the same on all GM,s. The speedo end change about 70 up. T-5s from 89 up had electronic speedo,s & willnot connect to the cable.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

I just take the old cable and housing, with the measurement I need it to be,to the local diesel truck repair shop, and have them build me a new one. Don't know anout your area, but here it cost me about 10% more that the parts stores get for a pre-made one,but it's a LOT more heavy duty. Probably never have to buy another one.
