This is an issue that affects everyone in the antique vehicle hobby and industry. Please pass this link around to others in the hobby.

BillyB -- You can make sure your elected representatives know how you feel about this by writing them a letter. The SEMA site has an outstanding section on Contacting your elected officials -- I highly recommend that everyone read this article. What you do after that is up to you, of course.

SEMA, and other groups, have had some success recently in making sure the Transportation Authorization Bill did not overly attack the automotive hobbies, but we're not out of the woods by any means. We all need to be vigilant that our hobby isn't sacrificed on the legislative alter because we were complacent.

And it's not just this issue -- if you don't know who your elected officials are, where they stand on issues and how they vote, there is no time like the present. As a greater mind than mine once said, The best safeguard of Democracy is a well-informed electorate. Keep an eye on your elected officials -- the only interests they are truly interested in are ther own.

is it federal or state or should i just start mass messaging anyone with power?

To answer BillyB0B, and the rest of you listen up, it is both. The C.A.R.E. web page lists proposed legislation by state and also federal. Click on the state bills link then click your state on the map. There's also a US button on the map for federal bills pending. It also tells how to contact your legislators.

Like TooMany2count, you can join these organizations. Join a local car club, monitor these pending bills and when something comes up detrimental to the hobby let the club members know. Then everyone write your legislators.

do you know the bill number? my friend is going to walk me through complaining about a proposed bill.
