BillyB -- You can make sure your elected representatives know how you feel about this by writing them a letter. The SEMA site has an outstanding section on
Contacting your elected officials -- I highly recommend that everyone read this article. What you do after that is up to you, of course.
SEMA, and other groups, have had some success recently in making sure the Transportation Authorization Bill did not overly attack the automotive hobbies, but we're not out of the woods by any means. We all need to be vigilant that our hobby isn't sacrificed on the legislative alter because we were complacent.
And it's not just this issue -- if you don't know who your elected officials are, where they stand on issues and how they vote, there is no time like the present. As a greater mind than mine once said, The best safeguard of Democracy is a well-informed electorate. Keep an eye on your elected officials -- the only interests they are truly interested in are ther own.
