For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! The ADs are everywhere. Quite a few task force trucks too. Lots of Fords and Binders from the era too. A great many are on the road sporting new paint jobs.
Anyone looking for a project should consider looking there. I didn't check any out up close but I could tell from the road that the paint is not all sunburned off like they are here.
Last year after a trip to South Carolina I reported on the scarcity of old trucks there. It's sure not true about Colorado. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 17 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 17 | Cletis, Sorry to hear about the Goldwing.... Since I arrived here about 7 years ago I have discovered that lots of classics roll out of the garage during the summer months, its hard to watch the road sometimes! | | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 36 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 36 | Shhhhhhhh!!!! thats our secret stash of projects for the winter time Gotta have something to do during those cold snowy months, right? lol

But if you think CO is loaded with them, try Texas, Kansas, Wyoming, Nebraska and Montana. Only thing is you might have to fight the ranchers for them that are still using them. Growing up in Montana we had a 48, 66 and a 72 Chevy. All of which we used until the late 80's when we left. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 571 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 571 | I found my 49 in Greely, Colorado. Body in great shape, needed everything mechanical. Perfect for me. Lots of Cruise Ins this summer here. Always somewhere to go and sweet rides to see here. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 531 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 531 | My 56 came from second owner in Montrose, CO. Original owner was a farmer somewhere nearby. | | | | | Joined: Aug 2003 Posts: 108 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2003 Posts: 108 | Lots of stovebolts (and all kinds of old trucks/ ag equipment) to be found in the lower Arkansas valley. The area is not being farmed nearly as heavily as it was 50-80 years ago. Lots of the irrigation water has been sold to C. Springs and Denver. I've hauled a few old Chevies out of fields for free (for scrap, mind you) and hope to find some more out there. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 189 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 189 | Tyler, don't come to far east of pueblo. i got all of them down here lol.
