Only have two new ones for today. One is an update that you'll get a kick out of -- an original picture of Jim Sgrignioli\'s first Piewagon

Our second is a great story from Jon about getting his 1956 Chevy 3600 . Got some future Stovebolters here hard at work.

Peg you da.......um........woman!!!
Thanks so much. I still get misty lookin' at that photo of the `49. The party days are all gone. I'm creating new memories with the `66 though. The grandkids...(wow, grandkids!!) can't get enough of the `66. Pop-Pop.....truck. I know what that means!! Guess they've got me trained. grin grin I'm gonna get them to the Drive-In soon, and let them experience one of my childhood pleasures. Can't beat takin' the`66 to the Drive-In!!
This site has been one of my great pleasures these days. I come right here after work & relax!!
I'm glad I stumbled on to it. Hope to meet you & John soon!!
Thanks for all the hard work!

If it's around Labor Day, I know John has some kind of air show down here at the base. If that's of interest. Fred, you, too. I think Paul Schmehl is gonna try again to come up / over around Labor Day.

But if you want to wait until fall, it's really pretty around here.

'Bout now. Just got gobs of veggies from the neighbors. Fresh tomatoes, squash, onions, beets, peppers. The other neighbor has a milk cow ... makes the best ice cream smile ... or if you don't want to work that hard, is excellent in your coffee or a milk shake. Yummy.

I forget when they slaughter the pigs. That's always good eats. And I forget when it's deer season. But we have some of that in the freezer. And those cute turkeys will get their's come November. But we don't do fresh chickens or turkeys. I haven't gotten *that* gutsy yet. Fresh eggs, tho.

In about two weeks the canteloupe will be ready and maybe another week after that the watermelons will be ready to pick.

So, Fred. It depends on what you like to eat :0

Or better -- what do you like to COOK! We can put you in charge of the grill. Give us a warning and we'll order an authentic Stovebolt BBQ apron from the Hoo-ya shoppe.

Well, John's gone off to get mulch from the landfill with our old dump truck. I imagine he and the IH will have a good time (especially since the new owner put a brand-spanking new engine in it). Then he'll haul back some giz-mo that we'll use to reach the high up limbs in the tree to cut them down. I forgot what it's called.

Hmmm. I think I've said I forgot or don't remember in this post waaaaaaaaay too many times.

I'd better get some M & M's. They are always helpful in a crisis.

Later.

Peg

Hey Peg,
I do some killer ribs on the grille!!
That, with some fresh tomato salad.
Yum....lots of fresh basil & onion!
And, a great big hunk of fresh Italian bread.
Man, now I'm hungry. I do love the fall.

Fred,
No Italian bread jokes!! grin
I treat myself once & awhile.

Piewagn,

We're only a couple hours apart... Sure would be nice to see the "Pie Wagon" in person.

Not quite sure where Berlinsville is ... I guess I should do a mapquest... I work in Easton. Do you ever get up that way?

Jim / Inky -- You all are just gonna have to get yourselves down here. My idea of "grilling" for today is a squash / sausage casserole I just stuck in the oven. I'm always "IN" for anyone else that cooks! We got the veggies, that's for sure!

John's finishing with the bushhog and I'm ready to hit the mower for the front field. So, I may be outta here until the a.m.

Come see us ... really. I just updated OUR web site, so you'll need to see what's here.

Nice looking bolt Jon! What's the differnce between the 3600 and 3100?? My 56 3100 looks a lot like yours... 'cept it does appear that your bed may be longer. I have the spare tire indent and the 4 on the floor as well.

If I do ribs, you're gonna need plenty of napkins. grin Inky can stop here on the way down. Leidy's Pork is about 2 miles from my house. We can pick up a 10 lb. pack, and a bottle of Jack Daniels for the BBQ sauce!! (I kinda make my own sauce). Just stand back....in case of flare ups!! eek eek

I should change the topic of this thread ... or at least start over for the benefit of the two trucks smile

Oh, no problem with the clean up. We'll have a choice of plopping in the pond, a short stock tank (we got for giving the dog a bath), the water cannon (for the trees), or for extreme mess: the pressure washer eek

Would you believe we did not grill out at all over the weekend. John thought that was un-American. We had plenty of friends, family and work ... with beer. That was "American" enough for us.
