Sad to see the old beast parked now--it was running like crap, and costing waaaaay to much to keep it going for a broke college student. Maybe one day when I have lots of free time and cash, I'll resurrect it. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 3,445 Moderator - The Electrical Bay | | Moderator - The Electrical Bay Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 3,445 | Chevy Asylum.. your Truck was "Butt Ugly" when you got it....

(actually I was pulling it - but I thought it would make a funny picture - the engine was bored 60 over on jugs 20 on crank - and locked solid after much goo poured into plug holes - so it was toast) | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | not quite first sight, but when I first got "red" off the trailer and tried to make it run - and for the 'after': some time later and link the pics folks, please! or this thread will get unwieldy before long [for the dialup folks] - save Peg havin to change'em Bill | | | | | Joined: Nov 2000 Posts: 700 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2000 Posts: 700 | This is the a scanned image of the actual photo of my truck that I saw coming off a photo reel in a professional photo plant (where my wife worked at the time) circa ~1985. The questions starting flying and I let it be known if it was ever up for sale I was interested. Eventually the owner sold it to my wife (I was at sea) who gave it to me for my 40th birthday in 1990. I'm sure that somewhere around here is a picture of me sitting in the cab and a big red bow wrapped around the truck; I'll update the link should I find it. However, this is the earliest photo that exists of us together. Not long after photo was taken, my sister shoved my forehead into the sharp end of the bumper. I had my first trip to the ER and had my first stitches and got a green lollipop from the doctor. I think that's when this Stovebolt thing got into my head. Might still be some chrome up there in that scar............ http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b386/littlebuddytoo/littlebuddie.jpg Note: The photo was taken neither for the truck or myself. Kids and trucks were no big deal but please note the stack Barracuda in the foreground. Now that is a father's pride worth documenting on film!
