me and my truck I think I was something like 12 years old at the time. Sad to see the old beast parked now--it was running like crap, and costing waaaaay to much to keep it going for a broke college student. Maybe one day when I have lots of free time and cash, I'll resurrect it.

newbie 56: Personally, I like the way it looked before you lowered it. It's not a race car, it's a truck. Your truck has lots of potential. I suggest keeping it as stock as possible.

From our Gallery - the great rust mountain - as it sat for 28 years.

and with me fitting the engine.

(actually I was pulling it - but I thought it would make a funny picture - the engine was bored 60 over on jugs 20 on crank - and locked solid after much goo poured into plug holes - so it was toast)

This is the a scanned image of the actual photo of my truck that I saw coming off a photo reel in a professional photo plant (where my wife worked at the time) circa ~1985. The questions starting flying and I let it be known if it was ever up for sale I was interested. Eventually the owner sold it to my wife (I was at sea) who gave it to me for my 40th birthday in 1990. I'm sure that somewhere around here is a picture of me sitting in the cab and a big red bow wrapped around the truck; I'll update the link should I find it.

This is not the first time I had seen my truck, I had been looking at it and riding in it since I was born. However, this is the earliest photo that exists of us together. Not long after photo was taken, my sister shoved my forehead into the sharp end of the bumper. I had my first trip to the ER and had my first stitches and got a green lollipop from the doctor. I think that's when this Stovebolt thing got into my head. Might still be some chrome up there in that scar............

Note: The photo was taken neither for the truck or myself. Kids and trucks were no big deal but please note the stack Barracuda in the foreground. Now that is a father's pride worth documenting on film!

Here's my latest one. The first 6 shots are what the PO sent me, the rest is when we picked it up.
