haha, if it's my 81, I'd take...no I'd give someone 100 bucks to take it. In fact, that's what I did today! Paid $100 of the payoff for the guy to take it. Thank goodness. For my new 64? Wouldn't sell it, but if I had to, $5000.

Ol' Betsy is on the market as of Jan. 31. Don't want to step on any toes by discussing this on the forum but she ain't cheap. Hate to let her go as I've been her owner for nearly 31 years now but have been bitten by the Impala SS/GTO bug and no room for more than one at a time.

Hmn... it'd have to be some ridiculous offer... even then I'm not sure I'd take it unless I was in major need of the $$$.

I mean, I already have history with my truck, I've cut my finger open on it, busted my knuckles, scratched my hands, burned my hands... it left me in the middle of the road - woudln't crank on me at the doughnut shop - wouldn't crank at work... I've even hauled stuff in it... gaveme fits for half a year with electrical demons... the top coolant hose out of the intake(sbc) to the radiator will suddenly and spontaneously spout coolant out every few months - no matter how I adjust it or how tight I get it...

and my latest adventure, the wiper blades won't stay on in 'inclement' weather(that's high falutin for rain and snow, etc.) :

http://www.stovebolt.com/bboard/cgi-bin//ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=22;t=001200

All that fun and good memories... why would I ever sell it? smile It'd have to be pretty serious... or I'd have to be sick of it cuz of something...

I wouldn't sell my '51 for anything. Some may say that is rediculous, but how could I part with a truck that has been in my family for 4 generations?

guess it would be like selling one of the family. Red, 5 window 54 chevy, original 235, saginaw 4 in the floor. Now that I've got all the electrical bugs cured, she's as dependable as anything modern. We have bonded.

Paid another $1000 for parts and stuff.

I'd eat lawn clippings or go hungry before i'd sell my 2 ton hunk.

When you spend that kind of time nursing it back to health, it really develops a personality of it's own.. it's one of the family.

My wife's name is not on the title of any of the old trucks, else she might sell one when I wasn't looking!

I used to say $20,000 when asked about my Suburban, but after the Barret-Jackson auction my answer has gone to $100,000. My intention is to scare even serious enquirers away.

Some of the others I could be more reasonable about...

1955 1st GMC Suburban | 1954 GMC 250 trailer puller project | 1954 GMC 250 Hydra-Matic | 1954 Chevy 3100 . 1947 Chevy COE | and more...
It's true. I really don't do anything but browse the Internet looking for trouble...

My '72 C-10, I would take $8,995.00 for it. Cash.

My son's '46...two grand would probably get it out of my shop.

I have over 11,000 bucks cash for truck, parts and materials in my '65. Could have bought a real nice one at the time I started mine for less. Why build and pay more? I'm retired and my old trucks keep me off the couch and recliner. I would ask at least 20,000 for it if I wanted to sell, but to me it is a matter of doing all the work myself (except boring the block) and it was a planned project-a dream that I wouldn't sell for any amount. I have five others that I will sell as I complete them but not my pride. It stays.

Really depends on what day you ask. Some days you could have it (my 4400) for free, others I wouldn't take a million bucks for it. Just like my horses... And the truth be told, there aren't many of those days where I wouldn't take a million bucks for it...

In fact, I don't think I can think of a single day I wouldn't have taken a million bucks for it...

Now my dog ... that's another story. (If you've got a million bucks, I've got a dog for you grin We'll throw in both cats for free)

Including installing the wood bed I have waiting I'd part with the '66 for about $4G and change (give or take a couple hundred dollars).

Heckuva deal considering I paid $3200 for it and have about that much more tied up in the new 292 engine, transmission and aluminized exhaust system.

Ain't that the truth! I can remember days when I would've given you the title and keys to any (or all!) of my trucks for $8.14, a cold 6-pack, and (1) fat cigar with a match. My dog and cats on the other hand aren't for sale, I have too much money in those little bas#%$*rds. grin

I turned down $5000 for my 48 the first week I drove it, which would have doubled my investment in the truck at the time. It took me a long time to find and get the truck and I wasnt going to get rid of it that easy. Now I have 2 more that need a lot of work.

Like many of us, I can't imagine selling my '48. But if I was gone, I would hope the Widow Wally would get at least $3500 for it. The new 261 would make up about half of that but the body, paint and interior have not really been started
