Hate to let her go as I've been her owner for nearly 31 years now but have been bitten by the Impala SS/GTO bug and no room for more than one at a time.

I mean, I already have history with my truck, I've cut my finger open on it, busted my knuckles, scratched my hands, burned my hands... it left me in the middle of the road - woudln't crank on me at the doughnut shop - wouldn't crank at work... I've even hauled stuff in it... gaveme fits for half a year with electrical demons... the top coolant hose out of the intake(sbc) to the radiator will suddenly and spontaneously spout coolant out every few months - no matter how I adjust it or how tight I get it... and my latest adventure, the wiper blades won't stay on in 'inclement' weather(that's high falutin for rain and snow, etc.) : http://www.stovebolt.com/bboard/cgi-bin//ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=22;t=001200 All that fun and good memories... why would I ever sell it? It'd have to be pretty serious... or I'd have to be sick of it cuz of something... -W | | | | Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 310 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 310 | I wouldn't sell my '51 for anything. Some may say that is rediculous, but how could I part with a truck that has been in my family for 4 generations?

I used to say $20,000 when asked about my Suburban, but after the Barret-Jackson auction my answer has gone to $100,000. My intention is to scare even serious enquirers away.
Some of the others I could be more reasonable about...

Could have bought a real nice one at the time I started mine for less. Why build and pay more? I'm retired and my old trucks keep me off the couch and recliner. I would ask at least 20,000 for it if I wanted to sell, but to me it is a matter of doing all the work myself (except boring the block) and it was a planned project-a dream that I wouldn't sell for any amount. I have five others that I will sell as I complete them but not my pride. It stays.

Some days you could have it (my 4400) for free, others I wouldn't take a million bucks for it. Just like my horses... And the truth be told, there aren't many of those days where I wouldn't take a million bucks for it... In fact, I don't think I can think of a single day I wouldn't have taken a million bucks for it... Now my dog ... that's another story. Heckuva deal considering I paid $3200 for it and have about that much more tied up in the new 292 engine, transmission and aluminized exhaust system.
