My daughter in-law has an old Chevy 3/4 ton pick-up that she is thinking about selling but doesn't know how much to ask for it. If I give you all the info. can I ask that question here?

3/4 tons aren't worth as much as 1/2 tons. Of course, condition is everything. A running 3/4 ton AD with some rust, but still a reasonably solid truck is in the $500-1,000 dollar range. Not a lot of people want the 3/4 ton due to the low gears and rough ride, but they do make a heck of a work truck.

Saw a guy with a 54 3/4 ton for sale at a show recently. Truck needed rust repair, paint, bed wood, and burnt oil. He was asking $2,500. No one was even looking at it, he was so far off on his price.

It's a legit question and one you should be able to ask in a forum like this. We have had problems in the past with folks abusing the priviledge, though.

John, my standard reply is ..."Depends on what you want to do with it ..." (It's a bit better than no answer at all.)

I sold a complete and fairly solid '48 3/4-ton this spring for $800 if I remember right. It had a newer 235 in it, but hadn't run in 15-20 years and would've needed the brakes done etc. The new owner bought it to use as a parts truck for his rusty 1/2-ton. This was in Minnesota, on either coast the truck may have brought more.

It would be here in Kansas. But on the east coast, where rust is a way of life, anything that old could bring a lot of money! Come to think of it, maybe I should move there. The wife says I'm old and worthless here.

Fatfenders -- I did a Google search on the index page for IFS for AD trucks and came up with three things. You can moneky around with the search and see if you can find what you are looking for.
