Recommendations?
I'm an occasional cigar smoker. I dont like the Phillies cigars. I bought a couple of Macanudo Robust - not bad. I dont have a lot of time to smoke some giant cigar - usually while walking one of my dogs so a robusto size would be my prefference.

Bill, go to Key West and see Mr. Rodriguez at his cigar factory. He and his wife roll them right there. They are the best. Their $3.00 cigars are better than the $8 and $10 cigars available up here in Seattle. Unfortunately he doesn't do internet. If you wrote him a note at:

Smoking isn't good for you. My grandpa died of lung cancer and i was devistated. even the occasional smoke might get you adicted. imagine how devistated your family would be if you were to die of cancer caused by smoking.

Macanudo Maduros are nice in my novice opinion. I don't smoke cigars very often but I recently went to Vegas and had a few there. Not bad.

I'm in love with Ashtons, but John T's are good if you want a cheap ($3.50ish) smoke. It's made with rolled pipe tobacco. mmm... Another company I like a lot is Montesino. I'm not much of a cigar smoker, and usually only do it once in a great while.

The occasional cigar helped me break the cigarette habit many years back. Finding a good cigar is the age old problem. I've seen those ads for Thompsons, anybody tried them?

I used to smoke Cigars alot. Couple a day mainly at work between shifts. I was always a fan of those Rosas Cubanos and te occasional Cohiba baically whatever looked like it good taste good in "Cigar Afficiando". I liked Dominican and seems if i ca remember correctly those Nicaraguans makes a pretty good Cigar as well. I quit smokin them when I realized a 21 y/o smokin a Cigar looks about as dumb as a ....

Rugo here. I am an occasional visitor to the Stovebolt page. I have a small cigar business on the side. It just so happens that I do business with a Joyal's Liquors, which houses Mr. J's Havana Shop in West Warwick R.I. He has a very extensive selection of premium cigars for very good prices. I too, am a novice, but have the benefit of a good friend that is somewhat of an afficianado. I'd agree with In2 on the Macanudo Maduro. Most are rather forgettable to me, but that Opus X he supplied me with last week was one smooth smoke. I'm looking forward to another, preferably with a good cup of coffee, perched on the corner of Caroline and Duval watching the 'bolts go by.

If anyone knows much about see-gars, it would be Steve. About five years ago, we were conjurring up a "Stovebolt Stoggie." That was before the great lightning strike. Things were insane after that.

I still think we need an "official stoggie" for the site.

Just my humble opinion.

Speaking of cigars, tho. John and both our daughters puff on those things. I usually take a puff of one of those big, fat huge ones when I have to hold it for John. One or two puffs is enough. They're nice and warm.

Oh. Are they suppose to taste good or somethin' ?? I save my taste buds for the brew :p

I drink all the "brew" I want (within reason), but one cigar or any other tobacco product...and it's off to the dog house for me.....

I keep tellin her I am still tobacco free.....
