Lots of work on Brad's part ... pure enjoyment (and references) for you!

For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 117 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 117 | After many years of half-hearted searching, I finally bought myself a '64 C-10 shortbed fleetside custom cab. Got it home today and wanted to start researching its history. Blah blah blah, right? OK, I'll shut up and get on with it.... What I want to know is this: where's the cowl tag on this truck? On my other older Chevy cars, it's right by the master cylinder on the firewall, but I can't find one anywhere on this truck. Where should I be looking? Thanks for any info for the newbie! | | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 3,068 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 3,068 | It's on the left kick panel on mine, Scott | | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 117 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 117 | Originally posted by 48bigtrucks: It's on the left kick panel on mine, Scott Yep, right there on mine, too. Never even thought to look *inside* the truck. Thanks! | | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 510 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 510 | Welcome Brent. For those who don't know, Brent has just purchased "Ugly Truck Jr." He's a friend from the Nova mailing list and it seems that he looked at the "magic eye" pic of my ol 64 and it caught him up in its spell. Now he's got one. But his is a SWB there mine is a LWB. I'm sorta jealous of that...but ya can't have everything. And if I ever need to haul something like firetruck (?!?) in the back of mine I can do it. I can sure haul a mini-chopper. Once again, welcome. And happy Bolting. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 117 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 117 | Thanks, Ray, both for the welcome and for pointing me to this forum! Looking forward to learning a LOT from this group as both trucks and vehicles this old are out of my realm of experience. Prior to this truck, my oldest vehicle was my '67 Malibu, which doesn't have a lot in common with the C-10. | | |
