It starts and runs good except when it sits a while the gas runs back down from the carb and it wont start untill I crank it enough to get the gas back up.Is the fuel pump supposed to have a back flow valve in it? Do they make an inline filter with a back flow valve in it? Any sugestions?

Some times it will but most of the time it wont.

I think it had this problem long before I got because I found a can of ether in the glove box. I will spend the bucks to replace the pump but I was'nt sure if I was going the right way and I hate to just start changing parts to find the problem.
