There's a chance that my 64 C10

might be used in a movie about a guy (Burt Munro) who set the motorcycle land speed record in 1962.
Here\'s a site with some info on Munro

I've been in touch with the folks about it and it looks like I'll be takin the truck back out to the salt flats in October.

This will be kinda interesting, cuz I had quadruple bypass surgery on Sept 8. Well, I spose we need something to motivate our recovery, right? So this might do the trick. I've already got permission from my docs to do this...and truth be told, I'm kinda excited about it, even if the truck doesn't get into the movie. It'll be fun to be there, cuz it's at the same time as the final LSR event of the year.

One other thing...has anyone heard from Larry (LAROKE)? I've been kinda concerned about him and the hurricanes.

I just got a call from one of the producers of the movie. They'd like to use my truck and they want me out on the salt 10/6. And they're gonna furnish a room and pay for the use of the truck. Holy smokes....that's only a week. My head is spinnin.

Go get 'em Ray! They gonna let you drive it or do you have to let some stunt guy have your baby?

Uhhh...if yer gonna film a race/LSR event and recreate a certain "period" then you'd prolly want to use cars/trucks of that vintage, wouldn't you?

They're focusing on Munro's 1962 record attempt and feel that my 64 is close enough to be of the appropriate vintage. They may park it in the pits or use it as a push truck.

I probably won't be doing the driving, since it's only been 3 weeks since quadruple bypass surgery.

Interesting story about Munro and his world's fastest Indian. The actual fastest motorcycle,as in streamliners, were Triumph powered, held that claim from around 1954 until 1970.
