A Dual Wheel Bench Grinder like this 4343495473 , where I can add a motor to it?? This seemed to be the only one I could find on eBay, I just wanted to see if I had more choices, if not I guess I will bid on it. Does anyone know of a website, or someplace I could get one? Thanks,

Just out of curiosity, why would you want this typw instead of a direct drive unit? These are always underpowered and they stop when any amount of pressure is exerted on the wheel. I have one at my inlaws, it uses an old wash machine motor and it's only good for small stuff.

I dont know where else you would find one,but they are definitly a nice piece of equip.to have.I have one that is much bigger and runs at a slow speed,very nice for sharpening lawn mower blades etc.You can sharpen blades without burning them up.

That would be nice with a 3HP motor and a variable speed drive.

Do not get a cheap dual wheel grinder. I have one and many, many occasions wanted to throw it over the hill. Dual wheels are fine if you get the right Hp power. I get so mad I usually use my 4" grinder.

I use a bunch of those type of grinder bases with my own motors. They work well for the polishing and sanding. I purchased mine fron Brownell's gun supply catalog which is available on-line. I will caution that you can buy a Harbor Freight 6" or 8" grinder for a lot less money. I hate to buy foreign junk, but there are no american made grinders in my price range so I just look at them as disposable. I use Baldor 1 hp minimum motors on mine.

Well, I like these better than the direct drive, they seem to have more room to work with. My step dad has one, and it works great, it has never slowed down to o stop either. I wont be bidding on it though, I am out of money

Snipe it. Shipping might be a few bucks...you just might get it for $1.99....tell em by the cheapest method possible...mule train if you have to.....probably cost you $30 for shipping...

but that cast iron looks pretty heavy in the picture.....

Go to your local tractor supply house, get a 3/4" shaft, a couple mounted bearings & a pulley, & another pulley for the motor. All I have ever seen were homemade, usually mounted to the workbench corner. Brian

That one's not even worth the minimum bid! I build my own with pillow block bearings and shaft material and pulleys purchased from Grainger. Old washing machine motors, etc., come in handy as power units. I keep several sets of buffing wheels mounted up for polishing gun parts prior to bluing. Each wheel has a different grit of polishing compound worked into the wheel.

Well, as much as I would like to, I dont have money to spend on this unit, shipping was around $27. I have been buying buildable model cars and trucks, like these: 64 Fleetside & 68 El Camino SS & 63 Impala SS

Just keep a look out at the local garage sales and what not. I am sure if you are not in a hurry you will be able to find one for about $5.00.
