Found this picture of a nice Allis Chalmers D-12 and of course my eyes wandered to the stakebed truck in the back. All I can tell is that it is a GMC. Looks like it is in good/decent shape from the picture.

Some day I will carry the digital and show you all the stovebolts I see everyday on the way to work.

Take care,
Chris

Chris: Nice picture, does all this belong to a farmer close by. I like that wide front-end Farmall to the left. Is that an old M they did not make many of them w/ wide front ends. Nice looking Massey Harris sitting next to the GMC.

The guy has quite a mixture of tractors, sitting there. And yes the GMC looks good has a nice set of grain sides on it. Ben

Id guess the farmall to be a W6? or WD6. It appears to be a wheatland model as opposed to a row crop M. Also the front cast bolster piece doesnt resemble an M's to me. Someone else on here can probly tell better than me though,...

I'd agree that the Farmall is a W-Series - W6 or maybe a W9. That GMC looks to be in nice shape. Do you know if this stuff runs, or if any of it is for sale?

i saw the 'wandering eye" topic and immediately though of a girl i dated a couple of times. i never really knew who she was talking to. i remembered she looked familiar to me, but could not place where. then i remembered my uncle crashed his desoto into a tree, and the headlights were all wopperjawed, and the right one was loose, so it sorta "scanned" the road.

then there was the guy i used to work for who had one of them "crazy eyes". i went with him to a ice house (ok tavern for you yankees) because there was a guy there who was messing around with his wife. old kool didn't mind a good fight when he was young, and my boss wanted me to keep an eye on his back, so i went.

the place was quiet as louis stormed through the door. one eye fixed, the other "scanning" the room.

git up you sombitch! i'm gonna whip yer [censored]! he bellowed.

the place went more quiet--

then----

it happened---

TWO GUYS ON DIFFERENT SIDES OF THE ROOM GOT UP!

we had to leave, cause i started laughing so hard everybody thought it was a joke and started laughing right along with me!

ok-back to politically correct mode!

are ya grinnin' john? grin

Brian & Rich: Not many W's or hardly any in this area of farmland. The back fenders was what I was looking at at air breather. But i do see it is sitting lower than what I am used to. Also look at the front hole above the front axle, that has been used many times (hand crank) darn thing would kill you.

Our M was a hand crank until we got a MTA then a good foot starter was nice. Would you guess that tractor w/cab is a 706 or 806 the style of cab is what is tipping me off. Ben

Yeah everything you see in the picture is for sale. It is locatd at Ole's Tractors, in Arena, WI.

His website is as follows,

Ole\'s Tractors

I am sure he would sell the GMC if asked.

I have a nice 1951 Allis Chalmers WD at home. A lot of fun it is.

Take care,
Chris

Thanks Chris: Nice web sight seen a lot history there. Lot of old memories also. Those W's must be more popular in the dairy heritage because you don't see them here.

Now there was a few old G John Deere's used here.

Kool, I'm grinning. Only YOU could try to hijack a nice thread about cool old trucks and even cooler old tractors (Did I tell you about the '40 Farmall A I just picked up for free???) and not have me delete it. :p

You are a pill grin

Keep it up boys! Love those wide front Farmalls! My tricycle M scared me to death, but it taught me how to drive a tractor.
