Has anyone replaced their bench seat with two bucket seats? If so, what seat did you use?

I'm doing the same thing Frank and would be interesting to know. I seen a picture of a 45 with large buckets but I imagine you could use buckets out of a mid size or small car as there's not much room inside the cab. I'm thinking on trying to get a set out of an old chevette or somthing in that size. There are sure some nice new ones on the market but there sure expensive. Hope you find out as there are quite a few with buckets in the gallery. Bob T

I've been thinking about this also. I've been looking at VW buckets. Older ones 80's, maybe newer.

Sounds like we are in the same boat. Since I am using an S-10 frame, I am removing the gas tank from under the seat. I am thinking of removing the under seat box as well and mounting the seats to the floor. I was sure hoping to use the space under the seat for fuse box and relays. But I don't think that will be possible now.

I may end up getting the bare frames and have the upholsterer build the seats.

I know the seat backs can't be very thick for the lack of leg room.

I'm using 89 Ford Ranger extended cab 60/40 split bench fits prefectly. Flips foreward to access some extra space, has an arm rest and a recess for the shifter, love it. Check it out in the Gallery, Jim Merritt's 46.

Hey Frank if you really want buckets I used the seat from a '93 Pontiac Grand Prix and you still have room for a console down the middle like this

I just installed the seats from a 94 pontiac grand am. Fit real nice.

in my 46 chevy truck i used Mercedes Benz bucket seat i found in a junk yard for $40.00 . thanks

Frank if I'm thinking of the right picture it was for a question I had about a brace at the upper part of the track. I put one in and now after a pressure crack in one of the windows I've since taken them off. They are the Dolphin units from EZ Wire also.

It's looks like a guide that goes up past the window sill. You have it circled. They look like they are easy to install.

Yep thats the pic I thought you were talking about. The top of the track ends just above the brace but below the the inner door panel. I thought I needed to put a small brace there and other folks also told me to put it in but like I said after I pressure cracked the pass side window I took them out and have not had anymore problems. You do have to cut a knotch out of the wide brace in the door and fab your own mount, I made mine out of some 18 ga sheet metal and they wrok fine.

with mounting mods the seats from a geo tracker are small and comfy also. Mike

Well there seems to be a wide selection of seats that will work. So I am going to used the first set I find of the ones mentioned.

I have been investigating the Dolphin Guages, 21 Circuit Harness and power window set up from EZ Wiring. I think that is the way to go.

Now, I thinking about shaving the door handles.

frank, i got a perfect (er well at least in its mock up stage) fit out of a set of 2nd row seats from a saturn relay that i scored at work for $0. they are the same as all GM minivans mine are out of a 2005 and are the "captian" seats and each seat has its own fold down arm rests when i mocked em in they fit like they belonged there (the center fold down arm rests are touching but not hanging up on each other) comfortable too. my $.02

Anyone know if the 46 cab is the same width as my 40 ? Looking for seats also.

Yes it is. I just picked up a Ranger 60/40 seat for my 1940 from Pick'n Pull, in almost perfect shape. $37.00.
