greetings,

need some help... replaced the two piece windshield glass in my 1950 chevy truck with a mitered one piece set up... very cool, but now the metal piece that once held the rearview mirror is gone... just thinking, is there an interior rearview mirror that mounts to the dashboard, ie. a mirror on a stick of some sort, that lets me see out the back window? i remember seeing such a unit at a car show sometime ago but of course, what car it was escapes me.

the peep mirror hung on the outside of the truck does help, but i find myself looking at where the rearview should be...

Don't know if this will be of any help but the 54 mirror mounts above the windshield.

Hi Paul....I've added a pic and the info to my "Tips and Tricks" Webshot album. The mount bracket has 5/16 fine female threads. I just found a salvage nite/day mirror with the ball socket....fitted perfectly. Hope this helps.

dave... thanks so much for the pic... i', gonna buy the 1954 mirror and bracket from harmons... looking at the bracket, if it doesn't work on the top of the cab surround, it may work by bolting it down to the dashboard for a custom look... i appreciate the help!

Seems to me like if you put it on the dash,all you'll be able to see is the back wall of the cab...

bought the '54 mirror, found a perfect place on the dash and presto custom mirror... with a four inch chop of the cab, it works perfect AND inspires others to ask questions about where i got it
