I purchased the rubber moulding that goes under the door jamb trim. I thought it would be flat, but it has a lip on it. Does the lip go to the inside to secure the floor mat? Here is a rough drawing of the piece in crossection with what I think is the bottom facing up. Thanks Jimmie.

I just ran out to the truck and checked it. I think I get it now. The wide flap acts as a wiper seal, and the lip or channel fits up under the metal trim, Right? With the other side of the metal trim holding down the mat on the inside. I kept staring at the silly thing, thinking this makes no sense. That photo makes all the difference. By the way did you restore the gauges or have someone else do it? I hope my interior turns out as well as yours.
