Hey all so now that I got my all gauge cluster hooked up and installed I'm looking to try putting a tach in the open spot on the cluster. I would be interest in the factory Tach but I have a 235 6cyl and I know the tachs were setup for 8cyls only. So my next question...has anyone retrofitted a aftermarket tach into the cluster? If so how'd ya do it? Now I would like to find a 180 sweep tach (like the original) because I don't want to cut out the metal in the cluster. So what do you all think? or should I just get a 2" dash mounted tach? Let me know your opinons and expertise!

Thanks,as always -Danny

I have a 3 1/2 inch in my dash now, From NAPA taking it out for another that matches.(dolphin) I thought all aftermarket tach's could be set up for 4-6-8 cyl. I'm certain my was when I bought it. Check it out, I;ll sell it cheap.

Was it a 250 degree sweep tach? Did you have to cut any metal out? In my 1960 only half of my total diameter is open (the top half)...and what modifications did you have to do? (The aftermarket Tachs are setup 4-6-and8 cyl I was talking about the original factory option tachs being only for 8cyls.) THANKS!

Thanks,as always -Danny
