They are a perfect fit and still allow the tank behind the seats. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 37 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 37 | I have a customer that has several of the 47-53 trucks that he has made street rods out of. He always uses the Mazda pickup bucket seats. Not real sure about the years of seats. maybe late 80,s early 90,s. He cuts the floor out around seat tracks with seats at salvage yard and welds them in. They are comfortable too. To each there own. I just don't want to look 70s style. The integrated seatbelt is a no brainer, but in order to use things like electric seat adjustments and still have the headrest in place either my knees will be in the dash or I'll have to bust out the rear window. I'm planning on putting a rebuilt bench seat with lumbar support back in my '65. I'd love to have tilt, reclining, power, heated bucket seats... but in my cab and being 6'1" tall, I'm going to have the seat all the way back and the only features I'd gain would be up and down, and maybe heat if it has it. Lumbar support and heat can be added to original seats and I really don't think I'd use the up and down feature once I had the seat set. Just my lay on the situation.

The best thing about these old ADs is that you can slide out the passenger side and step right onto the curb, without having to stick your backside into traffic like all those other turkeys. Otherwise, the only way to get to the curb is by climbing over all that taradiddle in the middle. And, if you flipped the handle on the driver side, you can lock the truck and just walk away. Anybody in the slow lane would never even know you'd left. Put that in your console and sip it.

Everyone here on this forum has different goals and different tastes. That's part of what makes it a great forum. If I choose a set of buckets and console, it doesn't have one iota of effect upon you. For MY EVERYDAY DRIVER, I choose the comfort and convenience of a console in my TASK FORCE. :p | | | | | Joined: May 2002 Posts: 144 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2002 Posts: 144 | Has anyone tried the seats from a Jimmy or Blazer from the 90's ? These trucks are narrow and I would guess the seats are a bit smaller than the full size Suburbans and 1/2 ton pickups. The vehicles came in a two door so the passenger seat flips forward somehow for acces to the back. Might be handy to get behind the seat area in your pickup. Ter | | |
