Has anybody purgest any head liners and door panels that represent the originals from a vender.

what year/model truck?

i got a new headliner and door panels for my 50 chevy 3/4 ton a couple of months ago from grumpies here in arizona, but i think most of them are from the same supplier anymore.

headliner looked very close to the original but i have to admit that the door panels don't have the same depth to the grain that the originals had. they they still look good but it's not an exact match.

I have a 51 1/2 ton chevy, p.j. is your new door panels still all cardboard like the old ones

I bought a headliner kit "FITS LIKE ORIGINAL" for my '54 pick up from BROTHERS TRUCK PARTS. It was CRAP. after 3 days and numerous tries, it was thrown away!! Wasnt worth the $$ to send it back. Funny thing is,,,when you call them saying you have a problem,,,,seems like youre the only person in the U.S. that has ever had a problem with their products. Bottom line is...on a lot of the repro crap you have to be a machinist,,carpenter,,mechanic,,wizard,,,etc....to make it work.
so,,,spend your $$$$ with caution!!

Jim Carter is the only one that I have found to have original type panels. I used them on my 51 and am using them on my current build, a '53.

david, yeah the new ones are cardboard just like the originals were. i know they have plastic versions out there but i'm trying to stay as close to original as possible with parts that i'm replacing.

deluxe54, i was lucky enough that the headliner went in and fit just like the original, but i know what you mean about being a machinist, carpenter, mechanic, wizard, etc...fortunately i am i've never ordered anything from brothers truck before, but it's too bad you've had such bad luck with them.

it is a local parts house. had pretty good luck with most of the stuff i've picked up from them. a couple of rubber bits have not held up to well but overall i've been satisfied. not only that but they are close.

We got our from either Carter or Chevy Duty, it had to be trimmed a little at the edges, but fit pretty good and looked fine after words. installing this part will try your soul. Get someone to help hold it place until you get it started. Makes all the differance.

What colors were used for the headliner, side panels and seats? There are a lot of colors available, but I was curious as to was the original was. Were they all black or maroon?

putting up my new headliner and I got a quick question. Does the front of the headliner stay "over" the holes for the sunvisor or does the headliner go into channels running down the sides right behind the windshield? Can someone take a picture of their's and send it to me?
