I have several locks: ignition, doorknobs(adding these), passenger door, glovebox, gas cap, and spare tire carrier lock. Hoping to get to 1 or 2 keys. I found a place on the internet called Jeffers Classic Key. Their site says they do this sort of thing so all locks have same key. Just wondering if anyone has used these people or had any other suggestions. I’m not really interested to try this project and would be happy to leave it to a professional. They are out of Ohio and I will email them this week.

Thanks, Glen

Glen - I seem to recall one of our 'Bolters in a previous life was an accomplished locksmith and had offered to potentially help fellow 'Bolters out with lock rekeying.

I'm not 100% sure I remember who it is, but perhaps they are still willing and would respond to discuss further. headscratch

Thanks Dan. I’ll keep my eyes open. I thought I seen something like that but couldn’t come across anything.

I may be wrong, but I think that was guitplayer. -- Yep. This post is his offer to make keys, He might be able to re-key locks as well, although I recall that he mentioned that the wafers were getting real scarce.

the gas cap , spare tire would have to be separate keys. The others should take a B-10 key blank.
I`d check and make sure the key will accept the keyway in order to key alike.

So my collection is 2 locking door handles new, same key (actually for a 38-39), a new ignition set, an old ignition set given to me from a friend after I bought new one, tire lock, glove box, and gas cap. All keys I believe are same meaning they all fit it the others except don’t unlock. I don’t have a new lock yet for passenger door yet.

My truck has non GM ignition set, glovebox lock no key, passenger handle no key and passenger door crudded up and no key

I found a place in Inver Grove Heights, MN. They were able to rekey all the same except for the handles. So that is good to have it down to 2 keys.

What does the keyhole below the keyed door handle do? Why two locks?

On the original doors they have nonlocking handles. There is a lock inside on the drivers door. A little t knob. Then you are supposed to slide out and the keyhole I think you are referring to is the lock for the passenger door. So I’m keeping that for originality and attempting to add locking handles on the doors for convenience. The locking handles are for a 38-39 Chevy so I am hoping to figure that out one winter when I tear into the doors. The locking handles are very close to original handles on the outside except for the lock. I’m not sure about inside the door but that may need some creativity

My locking handle on my '37 doesn't seem all the great. Mine locks but I seldom ever use it, but then I don't leave the truck out by itself. I used to lock it all the time, but sliding across and climbing back in got to be a hassle. I now park where I can see the truck and try to get in and out of the hardware store as fast as I can. I have cloth seats, so no sliding across slick vinyl for me.

I never lock any of my vehicles. I don't even roll up the windows in summer unless I think it's going to rain.

I don't leave anything in the cars that might entice a thief. I figure if someone wants to get into one of my vehicles, let him. I don't want any glass broken. Never had a problem.

When I get my 4 speed tranny in and I don’t have to keep adding tranny fluid I want to drive my truck to actual errands and then lock it to keep out the honest people😎
