I have not used it for several years since it's just easier to grab an angle grinder. Recently, I got a band file* which I find is great for sharpening things. Wanting to reduce clutter, I think the bench grinder should be disposed of. *band file: Maybe you know it by another name? I have the same kind of accessory that fits one of my angle grinders- - - - -even with a speed control attached, it goes through belts in a big hurry, and there are still jobs my three bench grinders do best. They're set up for different jobs- - - - -wire wheel buffing, metal polishing with muslin and hard felt wheels, grinding high speed steel and carbide machine tool bits, etc.

I have one that needs a new wheel, as the original one is worn down from use. I have three angle grinders as well, and a small sanding belt style knife sharpener.

I have several.
I don’t have one on a pedestal, but I plan to make one.
Maybe the pedestal one takes up too much room, floor space…..
I have a “ belt file”. It eats belts.
But, each to their own.
