Looking for two 235 push rods with solid lifters.

'What year is the engine? I have a set of 216 push rods but will need to measure their length.

Here's the listing for pushrods from the Master Parts Catalog. Looks like the 216 pushrods are slightly shorter. That's probably because the 235's crank centerline to block deck height is greater than the 216.

I've seen several examples of people using 216 pushrods in a 235 engine by putting the adjuster screw locknuts on the underside of the rocker arms. There's approximately 1/8" difference in deck height between a 216 and a 235.

What push rods set can I use as an alternative.
I’ve done research and the closest are 10.444” long.

He indicates in one of his reply posts that he has some 235 pushrods available. Perhaps they will fit your need?

No - His post was started 08/14. I just happened to catch that he listed the 235 pushrods in his own 08/21 reply to the thread as I responded to him tonight about some items I'm hunting for.

Figured I'd just share the lead if it will help both of you out.

Thanks. Hooked on the link provided and someone this year asked him about 216 push rods. So I asked him about my needs.

I believe I saved the pushrods from a 235 I got that had a cracked block. I won't be back to my shop for several days to check but if you are not successful let me know. You can have them for the cost of shipping.

I measured the push rods I have, they are 11 3/8". Sorry.

Texas - A bit more checking in several Chevy Master Parts Books indicates your 1955 235 pushrod (one of those in Kevin's screenshot above) should be GM# 3836261. That number is listed with various length measurements including 10-37/64", 10-5/8" and 10-3/4" depending on which year the Chevy Master Parts Book was published.

Converting from fractional to decimal length indicates those would be 10.578125", 10.625" and 10.75" respectively.

The Filling Station lists their AF-540 GM# 3836261 Equivalent Pushrod as "Overall length is 10-37/64"." for your 1955 235 application.

'Should be just what you need, considering your pushrods measured 10.6" overall length seen above, as that slight difference in length of these is easily taken up by the rocker arm adjuster screw assembly.
