I was rebuilding the rear mounts for1951 3100 cab.
I was checking to see if Grade 5 bolts are okay to use.
Also does anyone know the length of the bolts used on the rear cab mounts the old ones are gone.

Miller - The 1947-54 FAM says those bolts securing the rear cab mount to the frame and cab floor brace are common hex head bolts, GM# 120233. From what I could track down, the dimensions for those bolts are 7/16-14 x1 1/8" bolts and should be accompanied with 7/16" split lock washers. I couldn't find a designated bolt grade, but think at a minimum a Grade 5 is needed. Just to be on the safe side a Grade 8 wouldn't hurt.

Hope this is helpful. smile

I added seat/lap belts in my 57 3200 and grade 8 were required. It would seem silly to attach a grade 8 seatbelt to a grade 5 cab! frown

Which bolts are you referring to? The ones which go through the rubber or the ones which go through the frame?
