Made cabin reservations yesterday for Vicki and I. We will be staying overlooking the Little river. We will also have a 53 AD one ton that will be parked with the Stovebolt HQ at the show.

Vicki and I are really looking forward to Townsend again and hope to make it a scenic vacation on the way there and the way back.

Don't park here, Don -- Stovebolt HQ is about 4 or 5 hours from Townsend, last I checked.

And the date for this event is ..... when??

The 2026 Smoky Mountain Nationals are 28 - 30 May in Townsend TN.

Restoring or hotrodding?

I don’t think they know yet John. I think it will depend on what parts are donated.
All the proceeds will go to charity.

Edit: I sent the question to Dave, the lead of the SMN show.

The truck is on an S10 frame so I guess it would be considered a hotrod.

Just got a response from Dave and like John L. said, it is on a S10 frame and will be a roller.
So, you build it from there, on how you want it.

I too lost interest when I heard about the frame and being a roller but, all the money goes to a good cause.
So, I will still buy a few tickets and if I do win it, I may just give it back to them and tell them to keep working and raffle it off the next year?

I've got enough "roller" projects around HRL Headquarters to last me for the next 30 years- - - - -and I'm sure I won't be around to see them all get completed! That's never stopped me from scooping up another good deal, however!

Here's the scoop on tickets, you will have the opportunity to purchase one ticket per registered truck on the show grounds for 40.00 The thought behind this is so everyone has the same chance at wining the truck. There won't be any other tickets sold.

John, is that on top of the entrance fee or does it come with entrance fee?

Don, I believe this separate from the registration fee. I think they are trying to keep folks from stuffing the ticket box and increasing the chances of winning.

I always pay the registration fee even though I don't have an AD truck. This maybe my chance to get one though.😁

Thanks Tut's, I also pay the registration fee every year and have yet to have a truck allowed on the field.
And like you, it all goes to a good cause and will get my name in the drawing.

You must have a truck on the grounds to be eligible to purchase a ticket for the truck drawing.

Well.. if I had an AD truck on the Grounds I wouldn't need another...
