As I'm going through the tear down phase on my truck, I've found several parts that are attached by a funny little fastener. This has a sort of hour glass shaped indentation, maybe more like a circle with the sides pushed in. :confused: The salesman at the local Napa tells me he thinks they are called 'tamper-proof'. He has a tool to remove the modern version of them, but they are star shaped. Anybody have any idea of a good source for them? Is this really what they are called? Looks like I'm going to need an assortment of sizes before I'm done. Thanks,

Using that name, your Napa dealer should be able to find sets of clutch head drivers and screw drivers in his catalog (I know Napa has them, since I've bought them there.) Alternatively, most of the usual vendor suspects carry sets of clutch head drivers. Good luck.

That one is the bigger one than most of the screws in the interior. I got the smaller ones on clearance at an Ace hardware store. There #s are 20562 20563 20564 20565. 20563 fits most interior screws. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 443 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 443 | For the larger clutch head bolts, like the ones that bolt the rear fenders on, and if you have a spare tire holder on the side panel, holds that on too,get clutch head socket attachment for a 3/8 drive rachet. I just got mine from Snap-On and worked great with a 3/8 drive breaker bar to remove the old bolts.
