I’m converting a stock ‘51 Chevy 3100 to an open driveline. I have the 3speed with Od and proper ‘61 carrier that will bolt in.
If I were to rebuild the axle while I have it apart, what do I need? I’m not worried about axle perch or driveshaft, etc.
I’m tracking the following axle parts:
Center pin for spider gears (recommended by Tut)
Gaskets (for pan and carrier)
Gear oil
Seals? (Not sure how many or which ones)
I appreciate any help on this. I’m starting the project in OCT and diving farther into my research and planning.

I think it's the same as this Yukon Gear kit, but with different brand bearings. I got mine on Amazon, or from Summit or Jeg's, can't remember. Shop around for price. Amazon $108 !Had the diff rebuilt at a shop, and we installed the wheel bearings and seals and put the diff in the axle housing. IIRC, no gasket for the cover, just Permatex.
