The Stovebolt Site Forums The Side Lot Midwest Bolters Association Activation of the MBA Pony Express

Thanks to the generous offer from fellow Bolter "Rich4153", just a bit East of St Louis, MO, I'm becoming the proud owner of a brand spanking new fuel tank for my truck to replace the one that is steadily beginning to fill the fuel filter with chunky junk/rust. The original tank has seen a better day and must be replaced.

Also, thanks to the offered help from several other fellow MBA Bolters, Nathan "JW51", Joe "TooMany2count" and Don "2-Ton", it looks like the new tank is going to be able to find it's way sometime soon from out East to the far West side of MO. Not sure what the whole move will involve, but I thought I would post to start the tale of this years first MBA Pony Express run.

Perhaps if things work out, maybe a we can have chance or two to meet up with fellow Bolters in the process. More to come as things start to come together.

Good idea to post this Dan. The MBA Pony Express is alive and active to help out fellow Bolter’s.
The wife and I will be headed to the Southern Stovebolt Jamboree in late May if someone needs something hauled there or back to Missouri.

This is a COOL idea. We do this a lot among the Southern Bolters, just haven't posted about it. Do you think it would offend anyone to call it the " Confederate Railroad "...

Do you REALLY want to call it that?


Personally, I doubt I'd feel very confident using that railroad.

Just my thoughts, it reflects a part of history that worked for a while, as was the Pony Express that lasted only a few years. I kind of like it.
But, I best not make anymore comments about that title.

How about something like SSTA, Southern Stovebolt Transit Authority?
Or, SSRRA, Southern Stovebolt RailRoad Athority?
ThIs topic should be started in the Southern Bolter’s threads to get ideas, present the ideas at the Southern Stovebolt Jamboree meeting and then decide what it should be called.

The MBA Pony Express has been active several years and has helped many other fellow Bolter’s.

Craig, I very much agree this is a "COOL" idea. We have done it on several occasions before, but old posts that held that info got lost a while back and could never be recovered, so it's not really out there for folks to see.

I thought this would be a chance to remind everyone that the MBA Pony Express exists and we are always looking for opportunities to try and help fellow Bolters out. Including anyone outside our area that may need help getting things here from there or from there to here.

It also provides an opportunities to perhaps gets some fellow Bolters together that may not have much chance to travel or meet with others.

Would love to hear about similar goings on in Southern or any other Bolter regions. You never know when an opportunity may pop up to stop in and say hey or some such should folks travel through other regions too.

How about the Southern GREY Line.🙂

Just an update that the gas tank has managed to move from "Rich4153" in SW Illinois by Joe "TooMany2count" to the St. Louis metro area last Sunday. After some telephone talk and text messaging, I'm going to meet Joe in Columbia, MO along with Don "2-Ton" and Kevin "Shakey61" for lunch and handing off the tank to get it back home to the KC Metro area.

Looking forward to meeting the guys and enjoying a meal at the Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen @ 1010 Interstate 70 Drive SW in Columbia, MO at about 12:15. Should there be any other MBA folks interested in joining us, feel free to drop in and join us! Sorry for the late notification. We just got things figured out this afternoon.
