To All, we had a great time yesterday at the show. A small group of us was able to attend and bring a couple of their BOLTS. Alvin(Achipmunk), Jay(Lugnutz) and friend Al, Clyde(Dakota38) and wife Vickie, Phil(Phak 1) and wife Karen, and of course myself (without a Truck...again! I can see Archie shaking his head now). The Monticello Farm is settled in the rolling hills just northeast from Columbia SC. It is dotted with grand old Live Oak trees offering a great setting for Trucks and spectators alike. There are several out building and a large center barn that housed a great assortment of Antique Collectables and Automotive memorabilia. The family has a deep history in motorcycle and dirt bike racing, a beautiful collection of vintage Bikes filled the barn.

This was great event only made better by Phil(Phak 1) and his lovely wife Karen being able to join us. Phil is the moderator for the Project Journals, Engine Shop and Interiors here on the BOLT, Phil is a busy Guy. Phil and Karen spilt their time between Up State New York and the South Carolina Low Country. Meeting Phil, I was finally able to put a face with a name, always a good thing. I have been exchanging posts and following his 1952 3100 project since he joined the BOLT in 2019. Phil is a great guy, regardless of what Don (2 Ton) says about him dang

We recently had a chance to meet a good friend of Jay's Al, in Pickens SC. Al was able to join us and drove is 1965 C10, the truck was Al's daily driver and work truck until recently. Al's C10 is solid and is still powered by a inline 6. Al is a retired Firefighter so that just adds to his COOL points cool. He is currently working as a sign maker and splitting his time between not one but two 1934 Chevy trucks, a 1/2 ton and a 1.5 ton.

The owners of the farm provided on site music with several different artists playing the whole day. There is a tradition of free Chili, Alvin was sure to get a sample. Food and drinks were available, I had a great Chili Dog! Of course then there were the Trucks. Being open to all makes and years, there was great variety of Old Iron on site, everything from an ultra rare Corvair Ramp Side to vintage Kenworth's and Peterbilt's.

This may become a annual place for some of our closer folks, it was a long day for me...

My wife Karen and I attended this event yesterday and had a great time. As Craig pointed out, it’s great to finally put a face to some of my fellow ‘Bolters, whom I’ve conversed with many times over the last few years.

The shaded grounds of the farm helped create a first-class event with plenty of Stovebolts, vintage motorcycles, barns full of automobilia, and an abundance of other outstanding builds. This combined with great company created the perfect day.

I thank Craig (TUTS 59) and Jay (Lugnutz) for suggesting this awesome event!

Craig, thanks for posting those pics. Looks like and awesome place and show. It appears lots of those trucks are still working, and at least one of them (the San Diego County truck) came a long way, or at least the door did. wink

Yes, thanks for the post. Looks like a great turnout & venue. The wife & I put about 100 miles on the 66 C10 yesterday, about 40 of it in the rain. I’m feeling a lot more confident about venturing farther from home.

Talk with several guys and introduced them to Stovebolt.... even talk to a guy that had the orange and white pickup "the orange bottom special" and found out he only lives a few miles from me!

Great company and a good day. Weather was great.

(without a Truck...again! I can see Archie shaking his head now) LOL, I have worn out a set of Coker tires waiting to see you driving a Stovebolt of your own. I now have a new set of Diamond Back 600R16 wide whites and drove in our Veterans Day Parade.

Well, I did spend Sunday working on Thor. I think I have electrical gremlins cornered at the moment, it cranks and runs. I took it out Sunday evening for about 10 miles, everything seems to working. I am definitely going to put more miles on it before trying another 300 mile trip. grin
