Greetings gang,

Does anyone have the Husky 4 HP, 2-stage, 80 gallon air compressor (available in your local Home Depot stores) in their shop? If so, what are your impressions so far of this unit?

My friend has one and really enjoys it. He says it runs quiet (for an A/C), provides ample air for all his pneumatic tools and media blaster, likes the multiple output ports and feels that it is a good value for the money. I certainly trust his word, but as always I like to get some additional feedback from other users ...

Any comments would be greatly appreciated!!!

there are a couple of threads concerning air compressors... get one that will give you the capacity you need, and has oil in the crankcase.

Try this site. I swear by this brand. Look for running horepower, not starting horsepower. Read the specs on some of these. Good prices too.

Thanks for the info on Eaton. darn...those compressors look awesome ...

As with everything I look at utilization, frequency of use, reputation, reliability and lastly cost of ownership. I can read tons of info on the web and on vendor's sites, but I also take into consideration "word of mouth".

But I like what I read on Eaton's web site. Those compressors look great. Time to see if my wife wants to work some overtime

Look for an aircompressor with a high CFM rating. I prefer single stage air compressors because the cfm output is higher and the max pressure is usually 125psi.
