Has anyone seen or have knowledge of a tool that clamps to a spindle and starts re-threading from the inner part of the spindle threads to the outter edge of the threads?

come to think of it --yes. there is a local company called axle surgeons. they do this type of work plus restore rear axles that have seen bearing failure. mostly for big trucks, and the service is portable---they can do it on the side of the road. cool

I've seen those ads too for the axle repair in big truck books free at truck stops. They can even cut off the whole bearing spindle on back axles and weld on new, amazing! Maybe that's how they fix some of the ones they do with that Magic tool! I've never heard of anything like it 'cept that thread chaser like in Northern catalogs! Can't be too good of tool from them! grin
