This is the dowel pin mounted style. I need .010 under size. The brands and part numbers I have are as follows. You probably would be better advised to use a Dremel tool and cut notches so the later type bearings could be used instead. Jerry (HotRodLincoln) can help with this.

The whole job takes less than an hour with a bare block to work with. After the modification the later model 56-63 mains will be a drop-in fit.

In a pinch I've shimmed main bearings to get reduced clearance after taking out the factory shims under the caps. Ive also filed rod caps when there were no more shims to take out of babbited rods and I couldn't afford rods. A new set of rods was more than the $10 I paid for my 41 deluxe coupe. It got me to school and back even so.

It takes less than an hour, and a few strategic cuts made with a Dremel tool.
