Was it a GM bolt pattern? Are they any good? Any Korean Vets out there that drove these things? Thanks.

I drove them in 1959 and 1960 and they held up well to abuse. I thought they were just a hydro with a low range and a high range transfer case, in other words a fourspeed with straight drive for the high range and a reduction gear for the low range. There was no split shifting. Thanks for the dial-up OldSub. I'd like to repower my '51 GMC 640 and the automatic looked like a viable option if I could find a engine/trans application. That deuce and half was cool but the automatic ruined it for me and the junk yard man LOL. I never saw a military duece and a half of that era that was anything but an automatic while I was in the Army. My recollection fo those things shift, shift, shift, shift, etc. Up, down, down again, then up again, then down, down, up, up, down, etc. Them was the most agravating things I ever came across in the truck world. I never understood why the Army wanted such a truck but I guess it was cheaper than teaching boys to doubleshift.
