Is there any difference in length for the 2 parking brake cables that run from the center pivot rod to both drums? I found a few but they say 1951-1954 but I have a 50..thank you

According to the 1929-57 Chevy Master Parts and Accessories Catalog, 1947 2nd series -1950 1/2 tons used GM# 3686522 with an overall length of 40-3/4". The 1951-55 1st series used GM# 3694170 with an overall length of 40-7/8". Jim Carter offers MEB456 to fit 1948-55 1/2 tons. His description does say some minor modifications may be necessary. The Filling Station offers FS-392 for 1947-55 1/2 tons. Their description does indicate there is an added part RW-1 that is required on each cable to adapt them to your 1950 1/2 ton parking brake actuators. Hope this is helpful.

1/8th of an inch difference eh? thanks for the info..I was looking at ebay who had a few at a cheaper price which is why I was wondering.

Huck brakes on 47-5? Then Bendix brakes. Might be the difference on cable ends.

Seems you have to buy the ends separately or reuse the old ends if I am correct.

Be very careful buying the cable. Some of the cables are not manufactured correctly. The difference is not at the brake end but the bracket that is riveted to the frame. I ran into this issue with my ‘52 and I don’t believe this bracket on the ‘50 is any different. Here is a thread on this issue. [LINK]
