Anybody know where to get huck brakes for a 1950 4400 ton and half?? The ones on truck are shot and broke!! I have looked at every junk yard within 100 miles of NE Arkansas and can't find any. No supplier I have contacted has any other.
Ideas anyone??

First post here on stovebolt.com

I just ordered a set of rear shoes for my new-to-me 1951 4400 from Jim Carter Classic Truck Parts.

Look on page 79 of the 49-55 catalog. $85 plus $100 core charge. Thats cheaper than I could have mine relined locally.

Ripcord,
From what I understand from the manual, the brakes on the back of your '51 are not the same as the back brakes of the '50. The 1950 has HUCK brakes all the way around, The 1951 just has HUCK's on the front.
Thanks for the help though. Guess I'll have to go without back brakes until I can find some.

Yeah, that's what I expected to find, but I tore the back brakes apart and found that my truck has the Hucks on the back, too. For all I know the truck may be a 1950, though the title says 1951.

That link I posted has shoes for the Huck rears as well as all the other parts you might need. The part for the shoes is MEB515. Just be sure to tell them the year and type. If your shoes can't be relined, you can get replacements through Jim Carter's, but you'll have to eat the $100 core charge.

P.S. Just edited this post to mention that the MEB515 shoes are on back order.
