I was wondering if somebody could identify who made this bed for me. The owner could not read the tag on the back but thought it said Winter W something and could read Denver as the place of manufacture. The tag on the very back of my flat bed is pretty much mangled and the only thing I would ever be able to get from it is a cut! Especially, since it has the two ribs, in the rub rail. The earler G.M. the "bare frame" was availabe as 'cowl & chassis' or 'windshield, cowl & chassis' and 'cab & chassis'

They were a fine old line body company in Denver and, in their day, I bought a lot of bodies from them. They were the Wayne school bus distributor and also Miller Meteor and Cotner Bevington ambulance. They had an old buiding near the rail yards that was about 3 stories tall and they would drive the trucks up and down on ramps. They were a quality operation.
You need to be aware that there were not any Chevrolet approved bodies, other than stake and platform bodies. There were a lot of body builders, some better than others.
