Wondering if it changes gears properly? New clutch in. Sitting still with motor off clutch compressed I can go through all gears easily. While driving and changing gears, I can’t move it into the next gear until the motor rpm slows down enough. Sort of like letting the gears synchronizing.
Also, what is this bolt used for? I changed the transmission oil yesterday & saw this.

How did it shift before the new clutch was installed?
Synchronizers might be worn out.

That bolt / plug is for putting gear oil in for the universal joint .The 4 spd has the plug the 3 spd I understand the Speedo hole is used to fill
The 3 speed also has a plug for putting gear oil into the u-joint area. It also serves to secure the rear bushing in the transmission case.

Does it change gears if you double-clutch it? Clutch it once to take it out of gear and release the clutch. Clutch it again to put it in the next gear. ???? .

If you have to wait for gear speed to match up, the clutch is not releasing fully. Recheck your adjustment. There should be about 3/4 inch of pedal travel before the throwout bearing contacts the pressure plate fingers. Jerry
